We're very pleased to say that 'Evolectric', our electric launch is shortlisted for the 2023 Gustave Trouvé Awards!

Affectionately known as the 'Gussie's, The Gustave Trouvé Awards celebrate excellence in electric boats and boating. Over 160 boats were nominated this year across 9 categories. It is well worth looking at the nominees just to witness the diversity of solutions and vessels but, should you be so inclined, then a vote for 'Evolectric' in the Retrofitted / Customized / DIY Electric Boats category would be hugely appreciated!

The Gussies are the only international boating awards to focus exclusively on electric boats and boating. They are named to honour Gustave Trouvé, a prolific French inventor with over 75 patents – among them the world’s first outboard boat motor, which he devised so that he could detach the motor from his prototype electric boat ‘Le Teléphone’ and take it home for further work in his Paris apartment.

'Evolectric', shown at last week's Southampton International Boat Show, is our electric demonstrator; a refurbished 1995 simulated clinker hull with new interior and our DebenDrive propulsion system including Vetus 11kW inboard motor and SuperB 420Ah LiFePO4 battery. At 4.5 knots she has a range of over 60Nm and at lower speeds she has a range of over 100Nm.

The DebenDrive is a modular system including integrated battery, motor(s), charger, DCDC inverter, monitoring, navigation and echosounder systems.
