Description 

The Samphire 26 is a sea-kindly, long-keeled coastal cruiser with a moderate draft, ideal for exploring East Coast rivers and beyond.

This particular example is the six-berth version, she has been in the same ownership for 18 years and benefits from new standing and running rigging in 2020. Laid up ashore each winter.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to six berths in two cabins 

Steps leading down from cockpit to saloon with chart table and quarter berth to port side and galley opposite comprising stainless steel sink with cold pumped water and Flavel Radford II two burner gas hob and grill and crockery storage. Settee berths to both sides with additional pilot berth to port. Full width heads compartment with chemical toilet and hanging locker opposite. V berth forward with stowage beneath and escape hatch to foredeck. Teak style cabin flooring.

Mechanical Systems

Located abaft the companionway. Yanmar SB12 single cylinder 10hp diesel engine. Electric start. Raw water cooled. Shaft drive to fixed pitch two blade propeller. Twin lever control. Maximum speed 6.5 knots. Cruising speed 5 knots. Regularly serviced.

Alternator charging to 2 x 12 volt batteries

12 volt switch panel

Eberspacher warm air diesel fired heating (will need a service)

Sails, Spars and Rigging

Masthead rigged sloop. Anodised aluminium mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging (replaced 2020). Terylene running rigging (replaced 2020). Slab reefing to mainsail. Headsail furling system

Construction

Built in 1977 by North Sea Craft to a design by David Cannell. Blue painted GRP hull with Cream band and hardwood rubbing strake. Cream GRP superstructure with grey non-slip paint finish to decks. Long keel with encapsulated ballast. Transom hung rudder. Tiller steering. Aft self-draining cockpit. Self draining anchor locker.
